UV Safety Awareness Month
July is UV Safety Awareness Month. Many individuals are enjoying the sun this summer. While being out in the sun is fun, it can also be harmful to our skin and eyes. If you’re enjoying the heat this summer, make sure you are covering your skin, wearing FDA-approved sunscreen and protective sunglasses. You can reduce the risk of premature aging and skin cancer: wear sunscreen that protects against both UV-A and UV-B rays, as recommended by the FDA. Unprotected sun exposure is unsafe. Protect your skin while out in the sun this summer by staying in the shade, wearing hats and sunglasses and regularly applying sunscreen.
