I will help you be the healthiest version of yourself through fitness, nutrition and harnessing the human body’s natural ability to heal itself.
In order to do this, we must take a proactive and preventive approach to health and wellness. During my career as a hospitalist I cared for patients admitted to the hospital for a variety of severe illnesses and ailments. I spent several years practicing this type of acute care medicine. During this time, I saw firsthand how “traditional healthcare” has failed many individuals. Our current healthcare model is reactive and episodic and spends 98% of it’s dollars on treating patients once they are already sick.
Although I enjoyed caring for patients in their most critical moments of life in the hospital, in my heart I knew I could impact others’ lives and longevity if I had more time to spend with each patient. There was no reason for many of these sick patients to end up in the hospital with heart attacks, strokes, cancers and dementia. Did you know the CDC estimates 80% of chronic diseases are fully preventable?
My goal as a physician is to educate patients to enable them to create healthy lifestyles, by reducing stress and developing informed, mindful nutrition, sleep and exercise habits. Additionally, by utilizing advancements in technology such as genetic analysis and regenerative therapies we can all improve the quality of our life, and as a secondary benefit, extend our healthy lifespan!
Personally, I practice what I prescribe. I enjoy an active lifestyle centered around healthy eating habits and exercise. For 15 years I competed as an amateur, natural (drug-free) bodybuilder. I still train most days of the week. My downtime is spent with my wife supporting her in competition as a brown-belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We also enjoy playing with and walking our doberman and two miniature pinschers.

I have lived in 8 different states and visited 49 of them (Idaho will wrap it up). From my own bumps and bruises as an adventurous child and teenager, to visiting family members in the hospital, and finally to working with different patient populations in various states, I have seen multiple aspects of the American healthcare system. I seek collaboration with patients in their healthcare journey. I thrive in one-on-one or small group encounters, spending ample time with patients, listening to details, and establishing healthy patterns or detecting aberrations in those patterns.
Translating from medical jargon to easily understood language, teaching about lifestyle adjustments (physical activity/exercise, healthy eating, sleep, and stress management) in bite-size portions, and actively listening requires being in a type of practice, that is unfortunately, not practiced everywhere. I’ve searched across the country for the right type of practice and am excited to have joined Destination Health and work with the team to change lives, promote health, and prevent many of the chronic conditions that plague the country.
In my downtime, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, rock climbing, paddling, going to concerts, gardening, and traveling. I’m blessed to have a wife, an integrative health and fitness coach, who not only supports my interests but also participates in them as well.

Consistency is vital to staying healthy. It is the simple everyday decisions that ultimately determine the quality of life we live.
It is important to lead by example. I don’t ask my patients to do things that I do not practice. Every day I try to prioritize the pillars of health: good nutrition, exercising, relaxation, sleep, and spiritual wellness.
